Disappointing. I'm probably not even going to bother watching the 2nd episode. Sadly this show doesn't have the unique "MacGyver" feeling of the original. Part of the problem for me is feeling that the writing and delivery fell short. I also just didn't think that the actor cast as MacGyver brought enough of that unique trademark "Science geeky" kind of smarts to the screen in the first episode. The opening story line about the girlfriend's betrayal didn't help either. It just made the new MacGyver look young and stupid to me. Again perhaps it was the writing, but if the pilot isn't a top shelf product then I wouldn't expect the rest of the season would be either. I think it's a shame this one didn't live up to the buzz. In this case it just didn't fill the shoes of it's successful predecessor.
